What started as a two-person operation has grown into one of the Boise Valley's most trusted names in electrical contracting — and it all began with hard work, honest service, and a handshake.

In 1982, Larry Szurgot and his wife Barbara founded Szurgot Electric Inc. with a simple mission: do the job right and treat every customer like a neighbor. For the first few years, it was just the two of them — Larry in the field and Barbara keeping things running behind the scenes. Together, they built a reputation that didn't need advertising. Word spread naturally, one satisfied customer at a time.

As the years went on, that reputation attracted great people, and the company steadily grew through connections built on trust and quality craftsmanship.

In 2008, Larry's son Doug Szurgot and longtime employee Steve Bird took the reins, carrying forward the same values that Larry and Barbara established decades earlier. With deep roots in the community and a commitment to getting it right the first time, Szurgot Electric Inc. continues to serve homeowners and businesses across the Boise Valley — just as it has for over 40 years.
